"Komorebi" refers to the shimmering light and shadow that occurs when the leaves sway in the wind. Each "komorebi" exists only once, just at that moment.
When sunlight shines through the gaps between trees, casting light and shadows, it is both my painting and the tree's painting.
In these light and shadows, I feel "life." These light patterns exist only once, just like the life in this world, always brief and fragile. In this fragility, I find "beauty"—heavy yet light at the same time, accompanied by a certain passivity and a certain activeness. This contradiction makes me feel complex emotions about this beauty, including pity and love.
A person's life is also like "komorebi"—brief yet beautiful.
